If you were to make a list of the types of places where you just wouldn’t expect to have a memorable customer service experience, the underground parking garage in Toronto’s Chinatown Mall might be on it. And yet, the man who sits in the little booth as you exit managed to make my day.
With a big smile on his face, he walked me through the process of the automated payment machine. I really didn’t need the help, but couldn’t bring myself to tell him – he really wanted to help me!
As I drove off, he waved and said cheerfully – “thank you for coming sir! Please come again soon!”
Wow. No – seriously. Wow.
